Your Questions

Are you a guild member?

Yes, I’m a proud member of both the Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America.

What is your secret sauce?

I love stories where smart people make questionable decisions that could be summed up as “It seemed like a good idea at the time.” Like inviting your family to witness a home birth. Or getting pregnant at your friend’s birthday party. Or cloning your ex.

But my favorite sauce? Fancy sauce.

Do you write scripts for others to direct?

Absolutely. I got my start as a screenwriter, and have several scripts set up with producers that I won’t be directing. Recently, I was hired to write a short script for another director called UNBRIDALED which won several awards on the festival circuit.

Do you direct things you haven’t written?

Yep. One of my first jobs as a director was a Sandra Oh short film called 8 MINUTES TO LOVE, which went on to win awards on the festival circuit. As a writer myself, I put the story first, and I’ve developed a reputation as an actor’s director.

Do you only write original stories?

Nope. I adapted a best-selling novel (Business or Pleasure, by Rachel Solomon) for producer Margot Hand, and am in the middle of adapting another (The Rom Con, by Devon Daniels). And one of my favorite unproduced scripts is a Valentine’s Day riff on A Christmas Carol.

Who represents you?

My agent is Mark Hartogsohn at Gersh. My attorney is Chris Abramson at Abramson Entertainment Law. My publicist is Sam Srinivasan at Sechel PR. Their numbers are down below.

What’s with the smiling steak?

My company is Cute Meat, which is a play on the rom-com trope of the Meet-Cute (when our couple first meets in an awkward way). We are all cute meat, looking for our own meet-cutes.

Do you miss your hair?

Every. Single. Day.
